Anti Road Instruction System
Every year, countless accidents on Indian highways involve animals, leading to tragic losses. To tackle this issue, our innovative Anti-Road Intrusion system was recognized for its potential, winning the H-Social creator award and receiving funding for its first prototype creation.
About The Device
- This device will consist of piezoelectric speaker which will produce specialized ultrasonic frequencies for animals coupled with the warning ultrasonic sounds.
- This device in addition to ultrasonic speaker will also consist of passive infrared sensor which will help device to detect the presence of approaching animals.
- Finally this device will also consist of red LED diode to give visual danger signal to animals.
- These devices will be connected to a central console, which will power these devices and also do transmission and reception of data from these devices.
How it Work
- This device will be continuously emitting square modulated waves of ultrasonic frequencies above 25 KHz (inaudible to human hear).
- As soon as the PIR sensor detects any movement in the threshold distance value of about 10 meters, the intensity of the frequencies will start increasing..
- When the animals hear it, there will be a feeling of fear and confusion in the animals. This will trigger feeling of presence of danger in the animal.
- If the animal keeps moving towards the road, the intensity of the emitted frequency will keep increasing, reaching a point where it will be not possible for the animal to stay there. The animal will eventually flee away from the road.
- When the animal leaves the range of system, the device will be back to its original state.
- A combination of specialized frequency that is frequencies in the ultrasonic range, where only animals can hear, these frequencies will be monotone and erratic as a result it will disturb the animals in the vicinity of the device .The nature of the frequencies will make it very hard for any animal to bear it for long, finally making the animals leave the place.
- Secondly to make this process more faster and make animals sense fear more quickly, we Will incorporate sound which animals generally fear like sound of thunder, lightning , predator calls and even human commanding voices. In the ultrasonic spectrum so that it will be audible only to animals but not humans.
- This conversion of sound from audible to ultrasonic range can be done using software like MATLAB.
